About me
My name is George Moorey and I am a professional Badminton Coach (since 2011).
I specialise in:
teaching beginners of all ages
improving adult players
getting talented younger players ready for competition and county trials

UKCC Level 2 qualified Badminton Coach
Registered with Badminton England (amongst other things this means I'm insured)
Member of Badminton England's Coach Education Team (I am a licenced tutor working with prospective new coaches)

If you are an adult looking for one to one or small group (up to 4) coaching I am usually able to provide this on Friday mornings at Oxstalls Arena by prior arrangement. The cost is £45 for an hour which includes court booking, use of feather shuttles and my coaching time. If I am too busy I may be able to direct you to an alternative local coach.

Other places to play and get coaching
When players that I work with are ready I will refer them to a league club (adults), Gloucestershire County Association sessions (juniors) and the Gloucester Performance Centre. Here are some links to other places to play and get coaching.
The senior section has 3 mens teams in the top 2 divisions of the Gloucestershire Badminton league, 1 women team in the top division and 2 mixed teams in the top 2 divisions. The standard is high and for stronger club players. Meet at Chosen Hill School Sports Centre on Mondays 8-10pm (club) and Thursdays (8-10pm - match nights with club). Guest fees are £7 men, £5 women, £3 students.
A friendly and competitive league club with mens, ladies and mixed teams in the bottom divisions of the Gloucestershire Badminton League. A step up from social badminton for adults who are looking to improve their game with some competitive games. Meet at St Peters High School Sports Hall on Tuesdays 6-7.30pm and Thursdays 6-8pm.
There are coach led sessions on Saturday mornings at Severnvale School in Quedgeley for U16s and in the week at St Peter's High School for U20s. Players can visit for a trial and if selected have the opportunity to represent the county at badminton.
